Hacken's timeline (statement 19) lists Tether freezing 971.1M USDT at 21:01 UTC, 37 minutes after the Ethereum transaction. Elliptic (statement 92) says Tether froze the main attacker Ethereum wallet 37 minutes after 20:24 UTC, "locking 1.18 billion USDT in place". Both put the freeze at the same moment and give different amounts. TRM (statement 143) says Tether froze 971.1 million USDT in that wallet at 21:01 and that later sweeps landed in the frozen wallet, which now holds 1.175 billion USDT. The Elliptic text we hold does not say whether its 1.18 billion includes those later sweeps. Shown side by side, not reconciled.

Elliptic said the stolen USDT reached the attacker's main Ethereum wallet at 20:24 UTC, that Tether froze that wallet 37 minutes later locking 1.18 billion USDT, and that Circle froze the 823 million USDC in the same wallet three minutes after that.

The stolen USDT reached the attacker's main Ethereum wallet at 20:24 UTC. Tether froze that wallet 37 minutes later, locking 1.18 billion USDT in place, and then followed the funds, freezing four more attacker addresses within 17 minutes. Circle froze the 823 million USDC in the same wallet three minutes after that.

Cointelegraph reports Binance holds $134 billion in total assets in one article and cites $165 billion in exchange reserves in another. The BBC reports Binance said in 2024 it had more than $160bn in custody. The measures and dates are not stated.

Binance says the hot wallets were compromised at around 20:05 UTC. Chainalysis says funds began leaving at around 4:20 p.m. ET. The sources do not say whether these refer to the same first transfer.

Hacken says the attacker emptied hot wallets on 10 blockchains. Elliptic says 11 blockchains. The captured quotes do not reconcile the two counts.

Cointelegraph reported at 00:07 UTC on 30 October that Binance said it had temporarily suspended deposits. A note on Binance's first 30 October update says it was updated to clarify that deposits remain unaffected.

Hacken's timeline shows Tether freezing 971.1M USDT at 21:01 (UTC). Chainalysis says issuers began freezing by 5:14 p.m. ET, which is 21:14 UTC if Eastern Daylight Time is meant.

Binance says approximately $3 billion is frozen. Elliptic says it has verified $2.85 billion. Chainalysis counts about $2.8 billion. The sources date their counts differently or not at all.

Chainalysis is quoted with two totals: about $6.4 billion in its own write-up and $5.912 billion at the time of theft in an earlier Cointelegraph report. Both are attributed to Chainalysis.

Binance puts the loss at about $6.3B. Elliptic counts $6.43B and says its total excludes a further $169 million that left after withdrawals were suspended. The sources do not say whether the gap comes from pricing time, chains counted or other scope.
